Questions
About My Art
Q: What subjects do you paint?
A: I create oil paintings of Australian native flora — gum blossom, grevillea, correa and seasonal branches — as well as commissioned pet portraits. I focus on capturing quiet, personal moments that bring warmth and joy to your home.
Q: Where do you work from?
A: I paint from my home studio in South Gippsland, Victoria, surrounded by the landscapes and light that inspire much of my work.
Q: What sizes are available for your paintings?
A: I offer a range of standard sizes for both floral still lifes and pet portraits. I’m also happy to discuss custom dimensions to suit your space. Framing options are available.
Pet Portrait Commissions
Q: Do you paint pet portraits?
A: Yes! I create custom oil portraits of dogs, cats, and other beloved animals. You can see examples and commission details on my Pet Portraits page
Q: What photos work best for a pet portrait?
A: Clear, high-quality photos showing your pet’s face and personality are ideal. A mix of angles – head on, side view, or a favourite pose – helps me capture your pet’s unique character. See my Pet Photo Guide for tips.
Q: How much does a pet portrait cost?
A: Prices depend on the size and level of detail. Small portraits start at $420, medium at $650, and larger works are priced individually. Framing is available too – I love adding a simple, contemporary frame that makes your pet shine on the wall!
Q: How long does a pet portrait take?
A: Most portraits are completed in 3–5 weeks. Larger or more detailed pieces may take longer. I’ll provide an estimated timeline when you commission your portrait.
Q: Can I commission unusual pets?
A: Absolutely! Dogs and cats are most common, but I’m happy to paint rabbits, birds, horses, or other companion animals.
Q: Do you ship pet portraits internationally?
A: Yes. I ship safely across Australia and overseas. Each painting is carefully packaged to arrive in perfect condition. Shipping costs depend on size and location and are quoted when you place your commission.
Q: How do I place a commission?
A: You can start by contacting me through my Pet Portraits page with photos and any ideas you have. I’ll guide you through the process and provide a quote.

Colour Variations
Colours can never print out to exactly to match what you see on a computer screen. This is because printers use inks in the colours of cyan, magenta, yellow and black whereas monitors render colour in red, green and blue. Also Colours vary from monitor to monitor, and different printers produce different colour results. All these variables affect the printed outcome.

Care of your Prints
Please be aware that the front of your print is delicate and should be handled with care. To keep your print in good condition it should be framed behind glass/acrylic and a mat board and hung away from direct sunlight and damp areas.
We suggest that you have your print framed by a professionally. It is best to leave it rolled up its original shipping tube. Your framer will flatten the print accordingly.
Be aware that the longer you store your print in the tube the more difficult it will be to flatten it.
We do our best to provide you with great work, but we cannot be responsible for damage due to improper handling or display.
